Extension provides suggestions for helping children cope when the news is scary: Some children are more sensitive to scary stories in the news. In an article publish Monday by ISU Extension and Outreach, human sciences specialist Malisa Rader recommends that parents be reassuring, monitor their TV viewing when children are present, and watch for signs of stress in their children.
