Inspire and educate – outside the classroom!

Have you ever learned something fascinating from a museum guide, a zoo educator, or a corporate trainer? As an Education Studies major, you’ll graduate ready to create those experiences for others.

A Non-Licensure Education Program

Education Studies is a non-licensure major. That means you’re going to be prepared to help others learn in non-classroom settings (traditional classroom teaching paths require licensure).

Your education will start with a strong foundation in education theory and practice, learning from faculty experts in teaching. Through engaging courses, hands-on learning, and a semester-long internship, you’ll gain expertise to design, implement, and assess educational programs with a wide range of audiences.

Career Paths

Think about it – teaching happens throughout a person’s life and in a variety of settings! Museums, science centers, corporations, communities – all of those organizations have programming led by experts who can help others effectively learn content.

Career paths for Education Studies graduates include:

  • Community educators
  • Corporate trainers
  • Curriculum developers
  • Educational policy makers
  • Education technology specialists
  • Instructional designers
  • International educators
  • Museum/zoo/science center educators
  • Online learning specialists
  • STEM program educators
