Multiple assignment submissions in Canvas: Canvas allows a student to resubmit an online assignment as many times as they wish, up until the assignment closes, as defined by the ‘Until’ setting. If the instructor has specified a due date that is earlier than the close date, any submission made between the two will be labeled as ‘Late’ and the student will see a warning message before finalizing the submission. Grade book cells containing late submissions are shaded red. If a student made multiple submissions, the instructor will see a ‘Submission to view’ drop down menu in Speedgrader and can use it to move between submission attempts. Students can only see their most recent submission attempt, which means they will not be able to view feedback on earlier submissions. The instructor should therefore only grade the latest attempt, and only do so after the submission period has closed.
