Become the best and bringing out their best.

Iowa State University’s School of Education is a community where you can thrive and prepare for your career as a future Cyclone Teacher. We believe in a hands-on education where you take the methods you learn in class and put them to work in actual classrooms alongside practicing teachers. Experience in real classrooms happens early in your Iowa State education. In fact, you’ll have over 100 hours of observation and practice before you spend 16 weeks student teaching.

Learning from leaders

You’re learning from former teachers who now dedicated their professional lives to helping you become a teacher and improving the field of education through research.

What types of teaching degrees are offered at Iowa State?

The School of Education offers several majors within the school. We also help future subject matter experts learn how to teach. For example, if you want to be a history teacher. You’ll major in history to becoming an expert in the subject and then, you’ll take courses with us so you can effectively help others learn.
