Educational Technology Emphasis, Ph.D.
The School of Education and Division of Teaching, Learning, Leadership and Policy offer a Ph.D. in Education with an emphasis in educational technology (EdTech). The Ph.D. emphasis in educational technology has a distinguished reputation in preparing educational researchers who inquire into pressing problems in educational technology in formal (e.g. P-20) and informal learning environments.
Faculty expertise includes emerging technologies and social media, game-based learning, immersive technology, integration of technology in teacher practice, teacher education, and Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK). IT faculty often collaborate in grant-funded research with colleagues in the SOE, across campus (e.g. in Colleges of Design and Engineering), and nationally and internationally. Some faculty are also affiliated with ISUs interdisciplinary graduate program, human computer interaction.
